Executive Function Support – Christine Moore, MS CCC-SLP

Executive Function Support

When getting through the day
takes more effort than it should.

For middle schoolers, teens, and the parents who support them.

What you might be seeing

  • Homework battles.
  • Forgotten assignments.
  • Disorganized backpacks.
  • Difficulty getting started.
  • Big reactions to everyday demands.
  • Constant reminders that leave everyone frustrated.

Maybe your child knows what they’re supposed to do but struggles to make it happen. Maybe you’ve tried planners, checklists, apps, and rewards without lasting success. Or maybe your child insists everything is fine, while you see how much effort it takes just to get through the day.

What if the first step isn’t another strategy, but a better understanding of what’s getting in the way?

Christine helps families make sense of executive function challenges and develop practical, individualized ways forward.

Understand what’s happening.

Find what helps.

Build greater independence.

How it works

Start with understanding. Build a plan that fits.

Executive function challenges don’t look the same in every person or family, so Christine doesn’t begin with a prescribed program or a list of strategies to try. She starts by gathering information and understanding the bigger picture, then builds a plan with your family around your child’s needs and your everyday life.

1

Gather information

Christine learns about your child’s strengths, challenges, developmental and educational history, family routines, and current supports. She reviews relevant evaluations and recommendations, looks for patterns that help explain what’s getting in the way, and includes your child’s perspective as appropriate.

2

Build understanding

Education is central to Christine’s work. She helps parents and young people understand executive function, recognize how it affects everyday life, and make sense of why certain situations are difficult. Understanding the why makes it easier to identify what might actually help.

3

Create a family-specific plan

Together, you and Christine identify priorities and develop practical strategies that fit your child’s needs, your family’s circumstances, and the demands of everyday life. The plan may include direct coaching, parent support, environmental changes, school collaboration, or care coordination.

4

Put the plan into practice

Christine works with young people to build skills, self-awareness, and self-monitoring, and helps parents support progress and gradually shift responsibility as appropriate. She observes what’s working, adjusts what’s not, and builds strategies that can be used beyond the appointment.

Areas of focus

  • Understanding strengths and challenges, noticing when things get difficult, and identifying what helps
  • Getting started, planning, prioritizing, and following through
  • Organization, time management, and everyday responsibilities
  • Flexibility, problem-solving, and recovering from setbacks
  • Self-advocacy, communication, and growing independence
  • Parent strategies, family routines, and environmental supports
  • Connecting supports across home, school, and healthcare

The goal isn’t just to get more things done.

It’s to help young people understand how they work, develop strategies they can use, and take an increasingly active role in managing their own lives.

Services & fees

What it costs

Executive function coaching is a private-pay service.

Initial parent consultation

$225

A 60-minute parent-only appointment, plus up to 45 minutes of professional time for record review, clinical decision-making, and individualized treatment planning.

Christine explores your concerns, your child’s strengths and challenges, relevant history, and what’s already been tried. This provides the foundation for identifying priorities and determining what kind of support may be most useful.

The fee includes review of relevant records submitted in advance. If additional review time is needed, Christine will discuss it with you beforehand.

Ongoing appointments

$150 per 55-minute appointment

Student executive function coaching, parent coaching, or family strategy sessions. Appointments are individualized and may address a combination of skill development, education, strategy building, and problem-solving.

Care coordination & advocacy

$150 per hour

Billed in 15-minute increments. Support may include organizing observations and recommendations, preparing for school or provider conversations, identifying useful accommodations and supports, and helping families connect the pieces across home, school, and healthcare.

Care coordination may be part of ongoing services or available as a standalone service when appropriate.

Parent support matters, too.

Sometimes a child’s evaluation or diagnosis brings a parent’s own experiences into focus. Adult-focused executive function coaching is also available as a stand-alone service.
